As of 2003, Granarolo has promoted several initiatives to lower the environmental impact of the packaging of its fresh bottled milk products, especially aiming to refine and reduce raw materials used in production. In particular, the most recent efforts have focused on the 1.5-litre bottles used in the Alta Qualità e Piacere Leggero (“High Quality and Light Pleasure”) range, resulting in a weight reduction of 9%. Its production facilities (in Bologna and Soliera, Italy) are ISO 14001 certified and EMAS registered.
